I was meeting a friend here for dim sum at 11am and peeked inside to see if he was already there. The waitress asked me how many, and I said I was meeting a friend and there'd be 2 of us. She told me to go grab the available table even though my friend hadn't arrived yet. Luckily, other tables were opening up so others arriving after me didn't have a long wait to be seated. I ordered a lot of dishes for just the two of us, but figured I'd have leftovers to gnosh on later on. I'm not sure I'm a huge fan of the snowy baked pork bun. The dough is much sweeter and flakier than the standard baked pork buns. Their basics: har gow and siu mai are spot on. Decent size and good flavor. Their fish congee (jook) was very flavorful. Their fried dumplings are not greasy and the fillings were good too. Prices here are less expensive than Peony and East Ocean. 9 dishes came to $54 and would have fed 3 people easily. Service was great, too.

According to Reddit, this is some of the best dim sum in Oakland, and the whole Bay Area, and now that I have dined here, I agree. Fantastic dim sum in a no-frills environment. When we arrived Sunday around noon, there was a wait, but you can write your name on the clipboard inside, and it goes quite fast. We decided to share a table with another group to sit down sooner. We got the bbq pork bao, shrimp dumplings, stir fry noodles, and the beef and cilantro rice noodles. It was all so good! It also came out pretty fast and was piping hot. The chili condiment on the table was amazing mixed with the soy sauce and not too spicy. They have your typical tea choices, and at the end of the meal we were happily surprised at how affordable it is. The dim sum items all range better $4-$7. I have already eaten here twice this week, so I'll be back soon. Also parking on the street can be tough, but there is a parking garage right across the street in the mall, so that's the easiest spot!

I ordered online from Ming's Tasty and picked up my food at the store. I tried a variety of dishes, including the pork and shrimp dumplings, steamed shrimp dumplings, baked BBQ pork buns, egg yolk custard buns, pork ribs in black bean sauce, and fried tofu skin wrap with shrimp. All of the dishes were incredibly delicious and flavorful! I highly recommend the baked BBQ pork buns--the outer crust is slightly crispy and has a delightful sweetness. Every dish with shrimp was particularly impressive, filled generously with shrimp and very satisfying.

With all of the closures in Oakland Chinatown, it was great to visit a sit-down dim sum place in the area. This place has reasonable prices and pretty good food. Customer service for this small place is really top notch - we got tea and ice water quickly. After marking off our menu, all food came out hot and pretty tasty. Only complaint was the pan fried turnip cake was a little too soft (still tasted good). I am definitely coming back for more.

Stopped by to try the shrimp dumplings. I was worried when the cashier forgot to pack sauce but realized I didn't need any. They were so flavorful on their own. My dumplings were fresh and so sumptuous. I'll have to go with an empty stomach next time. Everything looked tasty.

Two of my friends and I ran into this spot. It's like a local spot, busy and noisy. Don't let that fool you. The service was ok, I think they are very busy and have to keep moving, they did provide plenty of tea and the basics. The food is spot on. We ended up ordering about 8 different plates. I definitely enjoyed the thousand fried shrimp ball, rice noodle roll with fried crispy shrimp, and the fried tofu skin wrap shrimp. Those dishes were so crispy!!! And juicy. Great flavoring the pork and shrimp dumplings are pretty much a home run as well. Delicious food, in the heart of Chinatown Oakland. The bill was pretty light as well. Good food at an affordable price! Will definitely go back

Tasty is in the name as an accurate descriptor! We were wandweing downtown Oakland and saw this place. Of course I scanned Yelp for a reccomendation and found this to look like an excellent value. Hong Mei took care of us and consoled us when we found out that they'd just sold out of Phoenix Talon. We happily stuffed our faces. We left with far bellies and still fat wallets after paying! Give it a try.

When you're in Oakland and you're craving authentic Chinese cuisine, Ming's is the perfect choice! Decor is original Chinatown mom and pope whole in the wall gem. This is not panda express. No comparison!!! Staff are very polite and communicate well in both English and Chinese. The food comes out slowly and so worth the wait. Their Dim Sum is spectacular. I'll be back !

How have I only discovered this place in my last week in Berkeley. I'd been craving dimsum for a while, and a friend introduced me to Ming's Tasty. As soon as I took a bite of the baked pork bun, pure bliss!! Trying a bunch of small dishes ranging from $5-7 can add up, but honestly, everything is worth it. Every dish is packed to the brim with quality and flavor, and nothing ever misses. We ordered the baked pork bun, steamed pork bun, hargow, sticky rice and minced pork in lotus leaf, siumai, and egg custard buns. All 5/5's that I will still be thinking about three weeks from now. Be sure to come early because they sell out of the baked pork buns fast, and the restaurant quickly fills up even on weekdays around noon.

A true whole in the wall experience, when we arrived the decor was covered in wood and graffiti. we wouldn't have thought this was a restaurant if the door wasn't open. We were seated promptly, as enter. Staff were very friendly. We saw a ton of Asian uncles and aunties. To me, that's always a good sign of good dimsum. They usually know where the best ones are. You want tasty and affordable. They had clay pot rice!! We had to order this dish. We also ordered ha gao, Siu Mai, some buns and chicken feet. All were pretty good. We left so full. Staff speak English, canto
